What is environmentally friendly edge banding?

As the name suggests, environmentally friendly edge banding is different from traditional non environmentally friendly ordinary edge banding. According to the composition, environmental protection edge banding can also be environmental protection PVC edge banding, environmental protection ABS edge banding.
With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, people are paying more and more attention to environmental protection issues. They not only have environmental requirements for plates, but also put forward environmental requirements for each type of accessories that accompany them. Currently, the edge banding exported to foreign countries generally requires environmental protection, and some high-end furniture manufacturers in China have also begun to use environmentally friendly edge banding.
In order to meet the needs of customers, we began to produce environmentally friendly ABS edge banding. The traditional edge banding is that PVC is a polymer with poor thermal stability. In order to facilitate molding, many additives, such as plasticizers, heat stabilizers, and processing aids, need to be added to the formulation. Most additives contain harmful substances to varying degrees and can produce harmful hydrogen chloride, aromatic hydrocarbons, and other harmful substances during processing, such as commonly used phthalate plasticizers (DOP, DBP, DINP, BBP, DEHP, etc.). Many research reports have pointed out the potential hazards of such substances, and the European Union and the United States have explicitly restricted the use of such substances in children's toys and child care products. The heat stabilizers necessary for PVC processing are also an important source of harmful substances, with a price advantage. Currently, a large number of heat stabilizers are used, including lead and stearates. The lead element in the former lead stabilizers is one of the eight major heavy metals, and their lead compounds have cumulative toxicity. ABS is a material with good comprehensive mechanical properties, with high strength and high toughness, and is a strong and tough material. The use temperature of ABS products is - 40 ℃ to 100 ℃, and the use temperature of PVC products is - 30 ℃ to 80 ℃. It can be seen that ABS products have a wider application range compared to PVC. The edge banding strip processed with ABS inherits the excellent performance of ABS itself. Compared with traditional PVC edge banding strips, it not only has the same strength, but also has the advantages of strength and toughness that PVC edge banding strips cannot match. It is an ideal material for edge banding and closure decoration of a new generation of high-end furniture.
